The HP Business Inkjet 3000 printer is a four-color Inkjet printer that prints up to 21 pages per minute (ppm) in monochrome (black and white) and 18 ppm in color. This configuration of the printer can produce 2400 x 1200 dots per inch (dpi) in Photo mode (using the PCL 6 printer driver for Windows.

- Trays: The printer comes with a tray that holds up to 300 sheets of print media, and up to 50 transparencies (Tray 2). The printer also comes with a rear manual feed (Tray 1) which feeds a single sheet of media at a time.
- Connectivity: The printer provides a parallel port and a universal Serial Bus (USB) port for connectivity. The printer also contains two enhanced input/output (EIO) slots to support an optional hard disk, standard network or 802.11 port.
- Memory: The printer contains 64 megabytes (MB) of synchronous dynamic random access memory (SDRAM). To allow for memory expansion, the printer has three DIMM slots that accept 4, 64, or 128 MB RAM each. This printer can support up to 320 MB of memory.
